Health Hazards of Secondhand Smoke



If you have ever needed a reason to quit smoking, the health effects of secondhand smoke on the people that you love may just give you one. Secondhand smoke is filled with toxic chemicals, such as benzene, formaldahyde (yes, the stuff they embalm people with), and carbon monoxide, to name a few. The health effects of secondhand smoke,Breathing of smoke caused by someone else is known as passive smoking. It is also known as involuntary smoking or second hand smoking.Every passive smoker is at risk with exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. ETS causes the maximum damage to fetuses, infants, and small children by damaging their developing organs, mainly the lungs and brain.

How close do you have to be to a smoker to be affected by second hand smoke. A couple feet? In the same area?
